Drifting Dragonfly: Fun Hand-Made Acessories
August 19, 2010  |  Vendor

How did The Drifting Dragonfly start?
It all started just for fun! I taught myself to crochet back in 2008, just making come simple things for myself and soon things took off! All of my friends were asking to buy things from me, local businesses started to ask that I donate some of my accessories to raffles for charity… My husband has been making jewelry as a hobby for years, and people had started to show interest in buying some of his work. So we put them both together and created The Drifting Dragonfly!

What type of things do you make?
We make a variety of fun hand made accessories!…from crocheted hats, scarves, and fingerless mittens to bikini’s (special order), slouchy berets, wallets, and market bags…Not to mention many different types of jewelry, usually made with African trade beads we have collected over the years.

What is your inspiration?
A lot of our inspiration comes from what we have coined “metro-natural”…A term we jokingly used when my husband bought a bottle of Tomato Cologne…But in general, earth tones and organic styles tend to inspire us, with a little bit of a “metro” spin.

Where can we find your stuff (other than at our market)?
We currently have an Etsy store (http://thedriftingdragonlfy.etsy.com) which unfortunately doesn’t get a whole lot of love in the summer months as we are busy selling at markets around the state! We will be coming out with our own website shortly. We do however continue to take custom orders from the Etsy site, so if you see something you like at the market, but don’t see it on our store front, just ask!

What are your social media properties and where can we find them?
